We machined a new bottom journal pin and socket hinge for this Grade I listed church, and used them to repair the gate so that it would open and close correctly.

Another handrail we’ve made and installed that, as well as providing assistance to worshippers, enhances the building’s interior.

Having carried out other projects for the church, they naturally asked us if we could repair the lock on their side gate. We found the lock mechanism for the latch was no longer working and the fire exit push bar was one usually used for internal – not external – doors. With the agreement of the church, we therefore replaced the lock with the appropriate quick exit lock shown here.

We made and installed this gate for the church so unauthorised people wouldn’t be able to use the entrance designated for groups such as pre-school children.

We took the gate to our workshop, made a new hinge pin and carried out other repairs, then took it back to site, re-hanged it and left it in good working order.

Having carried out work for the church before, they naturally came to us when they needed gate repairs – and we were very happy to help them again.

We repaired the North Gates at Westminster Abbey, restoring them to good working order.

ONE OF THE GATE LEAFS IN OUR WORKSHOP:

Working from Matthew Lloyd Architects’ drawings, we made and installed five handrails for the portico to help visitors ascend and descend the stairs of this iconic 19th Century church designed by the famous architect, John Nash.

INSTALLING THE HANDRAILS:

At the request of the Facilities Manager for the Salvation Army’s South Eastern Region, we carried out an inspection of the fire escape and provided them with a detailed report.

At the request of the Chair of the Fabric & Finance Committee at the Catholic Church of the Holy Name, we carried out an inspection of the cat ladder and provided a detailed report with recommendations.
